Windows8 and its features

You people might have heard about the windows8 . It is the next version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft. Although Windows 7 has done exceptionally well since its release, Microsoft has been constantly working to make the next version of Windows a better one by further improving upon the existing features, and have added new impressive Windows 8 features.
For those who want to experience the all new Windows 8, they can download the Developer Preview, which is currently in pre-beta version. The developer version shows off the current stage of the OS. It is available for free download, and comes in three different packages:
  • (1) 64-bit version – Only the OS
  • (2) 32-bit version – Only the OS
  • (3) 64-bit version with developer tools

 NEW FEATURES

Windows 8 offers a number of new Windows 8 features from its all new UI to Windows App Store and improvised security features. Here’s a list of new features and improvements which will arrive with Windows 8

Metro UI

Windows 8 will employ a new user interface based on Microsoft's Metro design language. The Metro environment will feature a new tile-based Start screen similar to the Windows Phone operating system. Each tile will represent an application, and will be able to display relevant information such as the number of unread messages on the tile for an e-mail app or the current temperature on a weather application. Metro-style applications run in full-screen, and are able to share information between each other using "contracts". They will be available only through Windows Store.
The Start button has been removed from the taskbar in favor of a Start button on the new charm bar, as well as a hotspot in the bottom-left corner. Both open the new Start screen, which replaces the Start menu.

Windows To Go

Windows To Go is a new feature in Windows 8 that enables enterprise administrators to create USB drives containing complete, managed Windows images that users can use to boot and run Windows on any Windows 7 or Windows 8 capable computer.

Windows Store

Windows have added Windows Store, which allows users to browse through Windows applications. And there are much more exciting features

On Screen Keyboard

Internet Explorer 10

Picture Passwords

Hardware requirements

As of Windows 8 Release Preview, the minimum system requirements are the same as Windows 7; these system requirements may change in the final release.
If you can run Windows 7 on your PC, you'll have no problems with its successor. If anything, Windows 8 should be even less demanding because it's designed to run on tablet devices that have less power than a desktop PC. As a minimum, you'll need a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM (2GB in the case of 64-bit PCs) and 16/32GB of hard-disk space.

 Release Date

According to unofficial sources, the release date for Windows 8 has been set for October 2012, however, it is still under development.
